Some galleries in the Asian Art Museum were temporarily closed so they charged reduced admission. But there was still plenty to see. We spent several hours there, including lunch at the museum’s Asian Box.
I especially enjoyed Shinoda Toko’s abstract calligraphy, a plate with dragon, phoenix and flower motifs, a vase with scene of warriors (including female generals), puppets from Indonesia, a Jewish wedding crown from India and the Crowned and Bejeweled Buddha Image and Throne.
