Paranormal Payback, edited by Jim Butcher and Kerrie L. Hughes, was released recently and was another good book to read on my phone while I’ve been reading hardcover Daisy Dalrymple books. Plus, it included a new Dresden Files short story by Jim Butcher.
These were my favorites:
Mister Petty, by Jim Butcher
Goodman Grey, with a cameo appearance by Marcone.
Dog-Eared, by Kim Harrison
Set in The Hollows Universe.
Algaliarept and Nicholas Gregory Sparagmos
Al (demon) to Nick (wizard): You were reading a two-thousand-year-old demon text in the tub?
A Clean Break, by R. L. King
Alastair Stone at a motel before SD Comic-Con.
Grave Payback, by R.R. Virdi
A Short Story from the Grave Report
Vincent Graves—paranormal investigator, and soul without a body
Graves quotes Gandalf regarding the fall of Khazad-dûm (Moria): They delved too greedily and too deep.
The Broom, by Kerrie L. Hughes
A Great Lakes Grimoire Story
Eilonwy and one-year-younger brother Taran Shaedewell.
Wren (younger sister?) is mentioned but doesn’t appear.
