Yesterday afternoon we saw Lyric’s excellent production of Something Rotten. It’s been almost ten years since we saw the Broadway touring production. I think every time we see it we catch more of the (very quick) jokes.
The cast was excellent, especially Kristian Espiritu as Bea, and it was a special treat to see Bobbie Steinbach as Shylock. The orchestra (keyboards, guitars, bass and percussion) was very good, but it would have been nice to have reeds, brass and strings.
