A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, season 1

I just watched the season 1 finale of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, recorded off HBO on the DVR. I liked this show a lot more than House of the Dragon, the other spinoff from Game of Thrones. Neither of us liked House of the Dragon enough to continue with season 2, and Joe didn’t want to even try watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

But this show was a lot smaller in scope than the other two, and almost light-hearted at times. I enjoyed the relationship between Ser Duncan ‘Dunk’ the Tall (Peter Claffey) and Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell). Even so, there was a lot of eye-closing during the Trial of Seven (In the Name of the Mother, # 5).

In The Morrow (# 6), I liked the end card, right after Dunk and Egg argue whether there are seven or nine kingdoms in Westeros: A Knight of the Nine Kingdoms.

Looking forward to season 2.
