Joe and I enjoyed Vokes’ recent production of Over the River and Through the Woods, by Joe DePietro. Neither of us had seen it before, and felt we really did get to know the characters. Nick, the 29-year-old grandson, is very lucky to still have all four grandparents!
Here is a picture (from the Vokes web site) of the cast (which was excellent) and set. We were very impressed that the dining room part of the set moved forward for the dinner scene.
Other highlights:
The play is set in Hoboken, NJ.
The grandparents settle on Caitlin, a vegetarian nurse, as being an animal nurse.
The very convoluted reasoning to come up with the correct answer in Trivial Pursuit of Washington Irving as the famous author who served as the US ambassador to Spain.
