Tonight Joe and I watched the excellent Great Performances production (season 53, episode 14) of Top Hat, recorded live in the West End and aired in May.
The stage was small but beautiful, in jewel tones, with a center section that rotated around to show whatever was needed: a hotel room, or a bar. The cast was excellent, especially Phillip Attmore (as Jerry Travers) and Amara Okereke (as Dale Tremont). And the dancing was amazing, in particular Phillip Attmore.

We saw the 1935 movie in August, 1976. We may re-watch it at some point, though it’s possible we’ll have to rent it.
