We just finished the (very long, 25 episode) first season of The Rockford Files on Prime Video, with James Garner as Jim Rockford. It’s a relaxing show to watch, not requiring much attention to continuity from previous episodes. The first season was released in 1974 so there are lots of vintage cars. And the show loves car chases.
Highlights:
- Backlash of the Hunter (# 1): Las Vegas before it got built up
- This Case Is Closed, parts 1, 2 ( # 7, # 8): very complicated two part episode with flashbacks
- The Big Ripoff (# 9): Jill Clayburgh and Suzanne Somers
- Profit and Loss, Part 1: Profit and Profit and Loss, Part 2: Loss (# 15 and # 16): The broken garbage disposal is practically a guest star
- Say Goodbye to Jennifer (# 21): Hector Elizondo
