Joe and I finished watching Lanterns last week, recorded from HBO. I liked it more than Joe, no surprise there. Tonight I finally had the chance to watch the behind-the-scenes special features on HBO Max. These were fun, but not especially illuminating. I enjoyed hearing the actual accents of Aaron Pierre and Kelly Macdonald.
The best part of the show was the relationship between the two Lanterns: Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and John Stewart (Aaron Pierre). I also liked Kelly Macdonald as Sheriff Kerry Kane.
Other highlights:
OutKast (# 3): Laura Linney; not impressed with John Stewart’s parents
Dirt and Stars (# 8): bonding (finally) between Halogram and John; John Stewart rewrites the oath: In brightest day, in darkest night, I’ll embrace my fear, I’ll do what’s right. I choose this ring, I choose this fight. In service to this lantern’s light.
