Quillhaven books 13-16

I’d been accumulating Quillhaven books by Tessa Silver as they were released, but realized they would be good to read on my phone while reading paperback Lady Sherlock books. So they do take a little while longer to read than usual.

Quillhaven 13: Feathers of Fading Magic
9/20/26-9/26/26

ritual to renew the Boundary

Meredith Lee, Veterinary Assistant, and Finn Flaherty, park ranger

Sylvie Brooks, by the end of the book: new book store assistant

Phoenix Ember, with babies Soleil, Ash and Cinder

Quillhaven 14: Lights Camera Spellbound!
9/26/26-9/29/26

Sarah, Caleb’s assistant at Mystic Mornings Café, and Ronan, Chase’s stunt double

Amber, movie intern

Both Leo and Luna appear in the Spellbound Summer movie.

Leo is tracking Ronan’s movements, according to Luna: He has a chart. It’s hanging in the cat cottage. It has color coding, just like Meredith Lee’s charts in the Kindred Creatures Refuge.

Amber misused a recipe called Eternal Moment Powder, which notes: For decorative use only. Not to be used near running water or places of significant magical concentration. Effects may amplify unpredictably.

Ronan takes a job at Frosted Pines to help Nick with maintenance, customer service, and forestry management.

Quillhaven 15: Copper Kettles & Cursed Kitchens
10/8/26-10/14/26

Hazel Honeybell (Honeybell Market) and Thomas Weatherbee

Leo appeared on surfaces without warning or apparent effort, as though the laws of physics were guidelines he consulted occasionally but did not feel bound by.

He was growling. Leo did not growl. Leo opined, declared, observed, occasionally yowled when dinner was late, and once delivered a twelve-minute monologue on the inferior quality of a particular brand of cat food. But he did not growl.

Sophie arranged the caramels on a plate with the satisfied air of someone who had learned long ago that magical chocolate was always the perfect gift.

Annie stayed to help clear the table, because Annie always stayed to help clear the table.

Annie led a curse reversal ritual. It worked.

Quillhaven 16: Wedding Bell Clues
10/24/26-10/26/26

Annie and Caleb are getting married!

Miranda to Annie: Brides are allowed at least three minutes per meeting for staring dreamily into space.

After Jonathan and Indi meticulously inspected Quillhaven Town Hall, Jonathan declared the building free of hostile enchantments—a pronouncement Noah called the most reassuring sentence spoken all week.

Wedding music, played by Melody on the old black upright piano that held a tremendous amount of Quillhaven history:

  • Wedding procession: a slow, melodic version of Enya’s Fairytale
  • Bride’s processional: I Only Have Eyes for You
  • Recessional: an uplifting version of Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years
  • Reception: How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You
  • Annie and Caleb’s first dance: I Put a Spell on You

Honeymoon: Silvermist Springs, a secluded magical hot-springs retreat in the Vermont mountains, where moonlight makes the mineral pools shimmer silver and the water is said to ease magical exhaustion
